President of the United States accepts credentials of Bangladesh Ambassador

Shamim Ahmed, Washington, D.C.: President of the United States of America Joseph R. Biden has formally accepted credentials of Mr. M Shahidul Islam as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the United States.

In an acceptance letter signed on February 17, 2021, President Biden welcomed the new Ambassador to the United States and expressed his Government’s desire to advance common goals and deepen the strong and abiding friendship between the two countries.

It may be mentioned that due to the exigencies of the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Government did not arrange the traditional ceremony for in-person submission of the credentials to the President. Formal acceptance of the credentials by the President was done in a ‘paper-based’ process.
