Special prayers offered for the Father of the Nation’s departed soul in Washington, D.C.
Shamim Ahmad, Washington, D.C : A special prayer was offered during Jummah prayer Friday (Aug 17) at the “Islamic Center of Washington” in D.C., seeking divine blessings for the departed souls of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the August 15 tragedy.
Bangladesh embassy in Washington, D.C. organized the special prayers, marking the 43rd anniversary of death of the Bangladesh’s founding father.
After the prayers, food was served among male and female devotees at the mosque.
Bangladesh Ambassador to the U.S.A. Mohammad Ziauddin, officers and employees attended the prayers.
