Uddin is running as the New York State Democratic Committeewoman for the 24th Assembly District (David Weprin is the current Assemblyman) that includes neighborhoods Jamaica Estates, Auburndale, Holliswood, Bellerose, Douglaston, Little Neck, Glen Oaks, Floral Park and Bayside. She is supported by the Queens County Democratic Party.

Jamilla wants your blessings and requests you to vote for her on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 6 am to 9 pm if not early voted. As a female State Committee Member to a two-year term she will be responsible for:
· Overseeing campaign spending
· Writing the Party’s platform
· Selecting Democratic National Committee Members
· Endorsing Statewide Candidates
· Setting and Enforcing the Ethics Code
· Encouraging Political Activism
As your Democratic State Committee Member, Jamilla A. Uddin will be a strong progressive advocate for our community and she will fight to give the power to the voters.
Currently she is working as the Campaign Manager for Assemblyman Jeff Aubrey’s Queens Assembly District 35 election before which she was a consultant for Donovan Richards’ campaign to become the next Queens Borough President to held also on June 23.
Jamilla Akter Uddin was born in the South Bronx, New York City and went to Public School 106 in Parkchester, graduated from John Jay College of CUNY and earning MBA in Urban Planning from Brooklyn College.
She was the youth coordinator of NYC for Obama in 2012, in 2013 she joined John Liu’s mayoral election as the Citywide South Asian Director, in 2016 Field Director for Hillary Clinton
Campaign in Philadelphia, in 2018 Deputy Campaign Manager ‘for Carolyne Maloney’s Congressional re-election winning big, in 2019 she was the Democratic Party NYC Director to make NYC blue and indeed she helped make it blue by flipping many seats giving senate majority to Democratic Party!
She was the winner of the “Shirley Chisholm leadership award” sponsored by Brooklyn College. This yearly award was also given to many famous women who made a difference including Attorney General Letitia James, Senator Diane Savino among many.
You may know Shirley Anita Chisholm was an American politician, educator, and author. In 1968, she became the first black woman elected to the United States Congress, and she represented New York’s 12th congressional district for seven terms from 1969 to 1983. She was the first woman and African American to seek the nomination for president of the United States from one of the two major political parties (1972).
Shirley Chisholm was famous for her tenacity and her position on issues that others dare to take. She famously said, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” From a young age where ever Jamilla went she took her folding chair and thereby establishing her as a team player and often taking the leadership.
Jamilla is currently serving as the Associate Political Director of the ASAAL National Committee where she was the youth Director of the Alliance of South Asian American Labor (ASAAL) for 7 years from inception. During that time she rallied in support of Trevor Martin who was killed in Florida. Long after that when “Black Lives Matter” movement started she joined them as a supporter and working for their cause ever since!
