MENG TO HOLD NEW YORK CITY ACTIVISM FAIR THIS SUNDAY : Event to help local residents and activist groups fight Trump agenda

UsaNewsOnline.Com Desk, New York : This Sunday, May 7, 2017, Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-Queens) will hold an activism fair to help New Yorkers and local activist groups combat the radical agenda of the Trump Administration. The event will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Forest Hills Jewish Center located at 106-06 Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills, Queens. “Since Election Day, so many constituents and area residents have asked me ‘what can I do?’” said Meng. “That is why I’ve organized this activism fair. It will allow New Yorkers to connect with grass roots activist groups so that they can learn how to engage in the political process, and make their voices heard. The event will also provide activists with many networking opportunities so that different advocacy organizations can meet, work together and learn from each another. As Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), I applaud the great work that activists have been engaging in. It is critical that we continue to focus on organizing and bring together all who want to speak out and see change. I look forward to an exciting and productive afternoon on Sunday.” Numerous activist organizations opposed to the President’s agenda will be taking part in the activism fair including established groups and those that have formed since the election. Each will set-up its own information table, and be able to answer questions and provide information about its activities.
