NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL CELEBRATED EID-UL–FITR 2016

New York : Council member’s office hosted a special celebration program on behalf of Eid ul-Fitr, organized by the new York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark –Viverito where she honored prominent members of the Muslim community on July 21, 2016. The event took place at, City Hall Council Chambers Office Manhattan, which was packed with guests. Council member. I Daneek Miller opened up the Eid celebration program with The Council Members and introduce NYC City Council Speakers Melissa Mark –Viverito including others Council Members to the audience the program started by giving opening remarks of Council Member Daneek Miller and featuring Dean Obeialla As emcee, The National Anthem of United States of America presented by Sasha Delaquis,  Saya. ”Ayat”  was recited from the Holy Quran by Ismail A. Sayeed. Present at the Event  Sarah Sayeed from NYC Mayor office Ms Alia Latif From NYC Comptroller Office, Captain Rana Adeel from NYPD, Faiza Ali From City Council Office, Eng Ahsanul Haque from ASAAL, Mohammed Tuhin from South Asian Group and Mohammad Mahab from SACO America and Kids PDD Tacklers, he also represented for CMBBA, all  participated as a special invited guest From the NYC honorable Council Speaker Melissa Mark –Viverito  including many more Arab, Pakistani, Indian, Guyanese and Bangladeshi Muslim Police Officer from NYC, Community Leaders & Scholars came from different boroughs from New York city. Ms Melissa Mark –Viverito stated on her speech that “I’m proud to stand with you to celebrate Eid Ul Fitr -2016, It is a beautiful night in City Hall as we are celebrating. “This community can teach us a number of important lessons like the need for self-reflection as a city that’s battling rising levels of inequality and pushing culturally sensitive services“. The thing we need to do is get more involved in the larger community, to tell people what Islam really is.  Islam means peace. Muslim community on their work in getting Eid ul Fitr she said that this achievement is not only one for the Muslim Community but the entire city as it helps other Community to learn about another culture then proceeded to honor active members of the Muslim Community in the city, whom she and her staff chose by reaching out to different Community Organizations. Honorees Mubarak Abdul Jabbar, Mohamed Q.Amin, Amini Al –Khatahbeh, Imam Shamsi Ali including the children’s Museum of Manhattan received a proclamation from the NYC Council Speaker Ms Melissa Viverito.
