Worries about harassment, surveillance, detentions and deportations are growing. The Bangladeshi community have a fear of deportation by Trump. Muslim immigrants and leaders from Bangladesh gathered at Avenue C Plaza to discuss their fears and thoughts of Donald Trump’s presidency. Many of the local and international media were present as well as the Kensington stewards were present and all contributed to the cause. Community Activist and south Asian Leader Mohammad Mahab including Councilman Brad Lander, Mr Daniel from NYC Mayor Office, Faiza Ali from City council Office, Ms Aliya Latif from NYC Comptroller Office Tarek Ismail professor of Law school City University of New York, Al Haz Abul Hashem, president Of Bangladesh Muslim Center Community Board Member Mamnunul Hoq, Kensington neighborhood Steward Mohammad Mahab President who is president of South Asian Community Care Organization SACO were all present at the program. They addressed a crowd of Bangladeshis program to discuss Trump’s coming presidency.
