Akbar Haider Kiron, a New York based journalist and TV anchor, originally from
- Has been with journalism around 30 years. Started as Special Correspondent of Weekly Swadesh in Dhaka. Used to write regular coloumn in Weekly Shurjodoy. Served as Bangladesh Correspondent of Weekly Thikana and Weekly Bangalee- both publishes from New York City. Was Special Correspondent of Voice of Bangladesh radio from Los Angeles and Shyamal Chaya radio from New York City.
Joined the national English newspaper Daily News in Dhaka in the 80’s. Worked as the Diplomatic Correspondent of National news weekly BICHITRA for several years before Moving to New York in early 90’s. Worked as a special stringer of BBC Bangla and World Service in Dhaka in the 90’s , till moving to New York.
Worked as a host of STV US’s live news analysis show “ Today’s Headlines. Helps TV Asia’s English program ( to North America ) as a special interviewer. Worked as the Director of News For Bangla TV New York for more than 10 years.
